FULLY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE
Most car engineers are satisfied with using a cable for the throttle. Makes sense. Cables hardly ever get stretched out, and respond practically right away. But practically right away wasn't good enough for us. So, instead of a cable, we engineered a 100% electronic acceleration system that sends a pulse to the engine the instant you press the gas. And the new overboost function detects those particularly rapid pushes on the accelerator pedal and answers with a little extra sumpin' sumpin'. The result is performance that would make a racecar driver drool.
But that's not all. The electronic throttle also constantly interacts with MINIs stability control systems to manage engine torque. When necessary it will automatically tell the throttle system to back off in order to ensure great traction and control at all times - even when your foot gets a little heavy.
